How to Get Rid of Dead Skin on Feet Fast and Easy

If you’ve been following my blog closely, you might already know that I’m a huge advocate of exfoliation… and this involves giving my feet some major resurfacing as well! Since summertime means a lot of open-toed shoes and sandals, I wanted to share with you how I get rid of dead and rough skin on my feet and ho I keep them super smooth and polished all season long.

For me the easiest and fastest way to freshen up and resurface my feet is to use products with Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs) and Beta Hydroxy Acids (BHAs). The acids dissolve the cement between skin cells, which causes the skin to shed and renew itself, revealing a smooth, polished surface. Because the skin peels off naturally, there is no harsh scrubbing required (a win for me!).

How to Get Rid of Dead Skin on Feet

That’s why I’m always on a hunt for a good exfoliating foot mask and I’ve recently started using Aprilis Foot Feeling Mask. The mask offers a gentle and effective way to remove dead skin cells in less than a week. It contains both AHAs such as glycolic acid and lactic acid and BHAs such as salicylic acids to break down the skin and stimulate a flaking effect. Because it comes in a single, disposable package, it is a super convenient, hygienic and one-time use treatment for feet.

HOW TO USE IT:

  1. Soak your feet in warm water before use and then dry thoroughly. If you have a nail polish, you might want to remove it as it could be dissolved. (I actually got a gel polish hybrid on my toenails so I did not have to remove it).
  2. Cut along the center line of the bootee and separate into two pieces. Place your foot inside one of the pieces and seal it with the adhesive tape.
  3. Put on an ordinary sock on top of the bootee to ensure the foot peeling mask is in full contact with your foot. Repeat with the other foot.
  4. After 60-90 minutes, remove the bootee and rinse the residue off your feet. Allow the skin to peel naturally in the following 2-7 days. In my case, I noticed that my skin started to slough off considerably after 4 days. To remove any rough patches and dead skin that the AHAs might have left and speed up the shedding process, I used a gentle scrub while in the shower and was sure to work on the ankle area as well.
