Recently I had the pleasure of undergoing a customized micro-needling treatment and I wanted to take this opportunity to take you behind the scenes and show you how this procedure is done. Plus, if you know me, you know that I’m a huge fan and advocate of “puncturing” or “stamping” the face while delivering active ingredients to the skin in order to regenerate and renew it and I constantly recommend treatments like these to all my brides-to-be or anyone looking to improve the texture and overall look of their skin.
The treatment, which was performed by the Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner and the founder of Glo Esthetics Coralie Palek, uses the new AQUADOLD fine touch micro-channeling technology in order to deliver proprietary skin-enhancing ingredients, vitamins, neuromodulators and dermal fillers directly below the epidermis (the surface) of the skin.
The treatment (and the ingredients that are poured into the AQUAGOLD vial) can be customized depending on your needs and concerns. I decided to undergo the MicroGLO Anti-Aging treatment which uses a robust combination of dermal fillers (Juvederm) and Botox along with skin-enhancing vitamins to combat the signs of aging, smooth and improve the texture of the skin, add glow and shrink the pores.
And yes there is a difference between traditional Botox application – when you inject Botox into the muscles in order to relax them and stop movement – and the micro-dosing performed as part of the AQUAGOLD fine touch treatment – when you deliver it into the dermis (second layer of the skin) in order to address pore size and skin texture.
The treatment was practically painless for me with a small stinging sensation and it took about 20-30 minutes. Immediately after the treatment, there was a redness on my skin but it disappeared within an hour.
I actually saw a noticeably difference in the look and feel of my skin a day after and within a week. My husband even noticed that my skin looked more rested and dewy!
